	Features of contemporary Egyptian art A celebrated art critic, Dr. Heba Ezzat el-Hawari, will shed more light on the features of Contemporary Egyptian Art`. Dr. Heba is the winner of the top prize in art criticism in a competition sponsored by the Supreme Council of Culture. In her lecture, which is part of the second round of the seminar `Features of Contemporary Art`, Dr. Heba will analyse ebbing and prosperous periods witnessed by the contemporary art movement in Egypt in the 1960s. The seminar will take place at 7.00 pm on Thursday, May 19 under the auspices of the Head of the Sector of Fine Arts Dr. Ashraf Reda. She will also shed light on different schools of art, which were established in this particular period, art groups, the overriding influences, whether locally or imported, and the influence of political crises in society in local art movement. The seminar includes a slide show before the audiences will be invited to interact with the key speaker. Dr. Heba initiated her interesting journey in this field last month by investigating the features of the contemporary Egyptian art in the first half of the 20th century. The third round of the seminar, which focuses on the post-modernity features of contemporary Egyptian art, will take place in June. It is known that the Sector of Fine Art has initiated a series of cultural and intellectual seminars to help motivate interactive dialogue between artists and art critics in society.
