- Full-time professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University.

San Fernando Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Madrid, Spain, in 1975.
- Dean and founder of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Minya University,
from 1982 to 1988.
Nawar held nearly a hundred exhibitions in Egypt, Jordan, Sau-
di Arabia, Qatar, Spain, France, England, Austria, North America,
Cuba, Norway, Switzerland, Italy, Finland, and Moscow, Russia.
His artworks are among the collections of Egyptian and international
museums and institutions in Cairo and Alexandria, Egypt, in Madrid,
Spain, Norway, at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts in the
USA, in Kraków, Poland, France, Bulgaria, in Doha, Qatar, at the
Royal Court in the Sultanate of Oman, Mexico, and in Sharjah, the
UAE, in addition to private collections.
Among his most important field sculptures in Mexico are the Statue
of Liberty in Isla Mujeres, the Statue of Will in Chetumal, and the
Statue of Challenge in Monterrey (Height: 25 m, weight: 80 tons of
iron).
Nawar won more than twenty-seven national and international priz-
es and awards, including the First Prize of the 1972 Alexandria Bi-
ennale for Mediterranean Countries, the 1989 Fredrikstad Triennale
Prize in Norway, the 2013 State Appreciation Award, and the 2019
Nile Award for Art.
He received many honors, including Egypt’s 1979 State Medal of
Sciences and Arts of First Class, the 1995 Order of Arts and Letters
of Officer Grade from the French Government, the 2020 Internation-
al Order of Merit from the International Biographical Centre, Cam-
bridge, the UK, the 2006 Medal of Honor from the Russian govern-
ment, Egypt’s 2013 State Medal of Sciences and Arts of First Class,
and Egypt’s 2019 State Medal of Sciences and Arts of First Class.
