s important exhibition of Dr. Ahmed Nawar, one of the remarkable artists, is a real opportunity
for art viewers to see a form of his impressive artworks from his beginnings until now.
Known as a drawer, painter, and printmaker, in addition to his works of installation and sculpture,
Nawar has presented throughout his career many forms of art characterized by depth, the se-
riousness of approach, and the emergence of meaning. However, this exhibition highlights his
drawing experience, with its extraordinary attractiveness and unique appearance combined with
skill and eloquent expression, extending from his interest in art and throughout his career from the
sixties until now. Such artworks deal with many themes of the most important highlights of his ca-
reer, including the collections of “My Village”, “The Holy Land”, “China”, and “Jabal Abu Ghneim”,
as well as other art collections in which Nawar depicted the concerns of his country and social
surroundings where he lived, by which he was affected, and to which he was devoted.
He portrayed such concerns with the artistry of a painter, the sense and passion of a creator, and
the preoccupation of an artist with the issues of his homeland, which appears clearly in many of
such collections that move viewers from one stage of his career to another and are displayed
at the Center of Arts side by side as a remarkable art career spanning over than six decades of
continuous giving.
